The History of the Lace Guild
Lace Guild Northern Ireland commenced in 1987 - founder members Mrs Thelma Goldring and Susan Taylor (née Latham).
The Guild is now in its 35th year.
The aim of the Guild is to encourage and nurture the making of Lace, especially the Irish Laces, so that future generations do not lose the art of making traditional lace in Ireland.

When We Meet
The second Saturday of each month, September to June, the Lace Guild meet in the Lagan Room at the Ulster Folk & Transport Museum at 10.30am for coffee, meeting commences at 11am.
The visiting speaker will give a talk on lace or something relevant to lace making after the Chairman has given out any business. Have lunch (either bring your own or visit the Cafe in the Museum). Afternoon bring your own lace and help given to any queries you have. |
Weekend Workshops
There are three weekend workshops throughout the year and afternoon follow-on sessions will correspond with whatever laces are being offered.
The third weekend workshop is held at Drumalis Retreat in Larne - lovely not to have to cook - make lace all day for 2 days.
1-Day workshops also take place throughout the year.
