WHAT WE DO

Our Work

The aim of the Guild is to encourage and nurture the making of Lace, especially the Irish Laces,  so that future generations do not lose the art of making traditional lace in Ireland.

Here are some which we celebrate, practice and teach:
  • Carrickmacross (needle),
  • Limerick (needle),
  • Youghal (needle);
  • Irish Crochet,
  • Clones (crochet);
  • Mountmellick (needle);
  • Tatting (using a shuttle);
  • Drawn Thread (needle); and
  • Bobbin (including English and Continental) laces.
